This is a short science curiousity piece which concludes that our universe is a perpetual motion machine. It is the logical conclusion given the accelerating rate of change at which our universe is expanding. We could also look at the theory of inflation, which I think is quite remarkable for being accepted as main stream physics not long after it was posed... why? ...because it violates energy conservation and exceeds the speed of light. But I digress, and any aspiring young physicist should be happy to know that we are so far from having figured stuff out... there are so many contradictions baked into our present understanding of fundamental physics... and I challenge you to figure a piece of it out!
